Once upon a time, there was a little mouse that took a stroll through the deep, dark wood. Along the way, the mouse encountered various animals who invited him to join them for a meal. However, the mouse declined each invitation, explaining that he was meeting a Gruffalo, a creature with big eyes, sharp teeth, knobbly knees, and turned-out toes. The other animals warned him about the terrifying nature of the Gruffalo.

The Gruffalo invited the mouse to join him for a meal, but the clever mouse managed to convince the Gruffalo that he himself was the scariest creature in the forest. In the end, the Gruffalo let the mouse go, and the mouse continued his journey through the wood.

However, as the mouse continued making its way through the woods, it actually came face to face with a real Gruffalo. The Gruffalo invited the mouse to have a meal together, but the clever mouse, thinking on its feet, was convincing the Gruffalo not to eat it.
While the mouse and the Gruffalo were talking, other animals in the forest were watching the scene unfold, surprised by the turn of events. The mouse, with its quick thinking, continued to navigate through the situation, keeping the Gruffalo at bay.
In the end, the mouse outsmarted the Gruffalo and went on its way through the forest. The other animals, baffled and impressed, witnessed the mouse's clever escape.

Brilliant , but I asked for just one story in which past tense simple and continuous to be used .
